Natural Toddler Shoes

Finding the right shoes for your toddler can be a bit stressful.  They are learning to walk and still crawling around.  All that rubbing across the floor can be damaging to bear feet even on the softest of carpets.  When walking, you also need to be sure that your child’s feet are protected from whatever he or she may step on.  There are many options too choose from when you are looking for toddler shoes.  Soft shoes will offer your child protection for indoor use and hard shoes can provide them protection when they are stumbling around outside the home.  With both options the best choice is to choose natural toddler shoes for your toddler.  They will fit better, and last longer while providing your beautiful child with the proper support.

The shoes you choose should be soft and flexible and, for hard shoes, have a non-slip sole. While many parents seek high top shoes for ankle support, they can actually deter your child’s walking development and are not a wise choice.  The material should also be soft and breathable so your toddler’s feet stay cool and comfortable.  All of these things can be achieved when you choose natural toddler shoes for you toddler.  Organic shoes are made of only natural materials and substances.  They will ensure that your child learns to walk and progress in the most comfortable shoes available.  Cotton, wool and hemp are the most common natural materials.  They are very durable and will last longer then your toddler is able to use them.  They are also very strong, yet flexible and breathable so your child will be protected and comfortable.

Another key in purchasing your natural toddler shoes is making sure they fit correctly.  You should be able to fit your pinky finger between the heel of the shoe and the heel of your toddlers foot.  You should also be able to fit about a thumbs width between your toddlers big toe and the front of the shoe.  These two steps will assure that your toddler can be comfortable wearing the shoe now, and while they grow.  You should purchase new shoes for your toddler as soon as you are unable to measure gaps about half that size.  Another perk for natural shoes is that they do not need to be broken in like many other shoes made of plastic or synthetic materials.  They will automatically fit to your toddlers foot and can stretch or tighten as needed.
